MELT PROGRAM

The MELT program is a crucial component of our driving school’s commitment to safety and excellence. MELT, which stands for Mandatory Entry-Level Training, is a comprehensive and government-regulated program designed to ensure that new commercial truck drivers receive the essential skills and knowledge necessary to operate their vehicles safely. At Black Horse Truck Training Academy, we take MELT seriously, and our experienced instructors are well-versed in delivering the training required to prepare you for a successful career in the trucking industry. ELIGIBILITY

Minimum 18 years of age

Valid Ontario class ‘G’ license or higher

Pass a vision test 

OSSD grade 12 diploma (or higher), or proof of grade 10 English equivalency

Submit MTO approved medical form 

Knowledge verification of rules of the road and signs
